A journal is a thoughtful favor that inspires conversation while the party’s going, and reflection after guests get home. At Thanksgiving, leave one of these “Thankful Thoughts” journals at everyone’s place (with a pencil attached!). You can make it a game by inviting guests to fill in the first page with what they’re grateful for and reading your entries out loud. Or, pass the journals around so everyone can write why they’re thankful to know the owner, and let guests read the sweet thoughts once they get home.

Supplies:

How-To:

Step 1 Tape a pencil to the spine of the journal with gold washi tape. You can even order pencils printed with the phrase “Thankful Thoughts,” to remind you to think thankful even after the holiday is over.

Step 2 Make label and stick it to the cover of the journal. (You can print our Thankful Thoughts template on a label printer, or write directly onto a blank label or even washi tape.) Place one at each plate and get ready for some gratitude!
