These DIY Pop-Up Christmas Tree Cards are fun, fast, and easy to make. The trees fold flat to mail, but once they’re fully open, they stand up and double as instant, 3-D holiday decor! When your friends and family pull them out of the envelope, their first thought will be, what’s this? Then they pop them open, and realize, Oh! Christmas tree!

These DIY Pop-Up Christmas cards are also a fun activity to do with kids at a holiday party or on a playdate or a winter crafternoon. All you need are scissors, cardstock or construction paper. You can personalize your tiny tannenbaums however you want—write notes, draw pictures, paint them or even add stickers as “ornaments.” Make a bunch to mail to friends and family or use as decor for your Christmas party, or just to dress up your home for the season.

Once you’ve made several pop-up Christmas trees you can:

-Stand them on your mantel—add fake snow or cotton batting to create a winter wonderland display
-Work them into a centerpiece
-Write names on them to use as placecards
-Punch a hole and add a string to turn them into mobiles or tree ornaments
-Tape them atop a present as gift tags

Wherever you use them, these DIY Pop-Up Christmas trees will help you and yours have a Merry Christmas!
