Spookify your soiree with a haunted pumpkin patch cake that’s easy to make. Start with a white-frosted sheet cake or ice a tray of brownies, Rice Krispies Treats, or other rectangular treat, top with shredded wheat “hay,” then “plant” candy pumpkins and invite over some friendly ghosts.
What you’ll need:
- Square or rectangular cake (or brownies, or Rice Krispies Treats, or…)
- White icing
- Shredded wheat cereal
- Pumpkin candies
- Ghost template
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Tape
- Thin crafting wire (24 gauge shown here)
Step 1: Ice your cake evenly on all sides with white frosting, then cover with shredded wheat to make your patch. Top with a whole biscuit of shredded wheat to make a bale of hay.
Step 2: Place pumpkin candies on top of the cake to fill the patch.
Step 3: Download Ghost Template, print onto cardstock, and cut out ghosts. Tape ghosts onto different lengths of wire.
