Raise the bar for mulled wine with your favorite seasonal toppings and garnishes at your holiday gathering. Make the mulled wine pre-party, then set out garnishes and add-ins for guests to dress up their mugs of holiday cheer, and the bottle of the wine itself, dressed up in a red ribbon. It’s a festive (and boozy) way to spice up your holiday party.

What You’ll Need:

  • Mulled Wine Tags Template
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch
  • Ribbon or tape
  • Your favorite mulled wine recipe
  • Small dishes for garnishes and add ins (copper measuring cups used here)
  • Garnishes and add-ins. Try: ground nutmeg, dried strawberries, cloves, orange slices, pink peppercorns, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, star anise, blood orange slices, honey…
  • Bottle of wine (Elouan’s Pinot Noir shown here)

How To:

Step 1 Download Mulled Wine Tag template, print, and and cut out tags for add-ins and garnishes. If you’re using a garnish that’s not on the template, trace the tag shape onto paper, cut out and write in your own.

Step 2 Punch a hole at the top of each tag and tie with ribbon to a dish. If your dish doesn’t have a handle, tie the ribbon to a spoon or scoop placed inside it.

Step 3 Make your favorite mulled wine recipe on the stovetop and bring down to a simmer.

Step 4 Fill your dishes with add-ins and garnishes and set out.

Step 5 Serve wine and let guests hit the toppings bar.
