Creating these Frankencookies is so easy, it can be a fun activity for kids at a party. You don’t have to be a mad scientist to make a motley crew of monsters. All it takes is some sugar cookie dough, food coloring, and a few creepy candies.

What you’ll need:

  • Sugar Cookie Dough
  • Food coloring
  • Candy to decorate (gummy eyeballs, sugar eyeballs, gummy fangs, red licorice, etc.)

Step 1 Add food coloring to sugar cookie dough before baking; split dough into multiple batches for different colored monsters, or just choose your favorite hue.

Step 2 Bake cookies, then let cool slightly before adding candies while dough is still soft. (If they’re too hot, gummies will melt, but if they’re too cool, you won’t be able to press the candies into the dough.)

Step 3 While cookies are still slightly warm to the touch, press in candies to make your monsters. Try a cyclops with one eye, a fearsome fanged creature, or whatever devil you can dream up.
