Darcy Miller Designs Felt Pies Thanksgiving, Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Pie, Felt Craft, Downloadable Template, DIY placemat, DIY Trivet, Coaster, Table Décor

These felt pies make delicious (looking!) placemats, coasters, and trivets. Pick your flavor and get ready to whip up adorable table decor or hostess gifts.

What You’ll Need:

  • Pumpkin Pie Template
  •  Paper
  • Pencil
  • Orange, tan, and white felt sheets (at least 11”x17” in size)
  • Scissors
  • Tacky glue or hot glue
  • Tape

How To:

Step 1 Download Pumpkin Pie Template, print, and cut out pieces. Fold tan felt in half, trace largest paper half circle (for crust) and cut along the traced outline, through both layers of fabric, to form one circle when unfolded. Fold orange felt in half, trace smaller half circle (for filling), and cut along the traced outline, through both layers of fabric, to form one circle when unfolded.

Step 2 Glue the orange filling circle to the tan piecrust circle. Set aside to dry.

Step 3 Trace the nine crust strips from the template onto the tan felt and cut out. Make three braids, using three strips each, and glue ends together. Trim ends.

Step 4 Carefully glue the braids one at a time around the perimeter of the pie, cutting final braid to fit.

Step 5 Trace whipped cream dollop template onto white felt. Cut out and glue to the center of your pumpkin pie.

What You’ll Need:

  • Cherry Pie Template
  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Red and tan felt sheets (at least 11”x17” in size)
  • Scissors
  • Tacky glue or hot glue

How To Cherry Pie:

Step 1
Download Cherry Pie Template, print, and cut out pieces. Fold tan felt in half, trace edge of crust template, and cut along traced outline through both layers to form one large circle when unfolded. Put aside.

Fold red felt in half, trace edge of filling template, and cut along traced outline through both layers to form one large circle when unfolded. Set aside.

Step 2 Using template, trace 14 lattice strips onto the tan felt and cut out. Lay out seven across the pie, seven lengthwise to get your placing.
Begin weaving the strips over and under until you have a square lattice.

Step 3 Place a dot of glue in each cross-section where the felt overlaps and set aside to dry. Once the lattice square is dry, center it over filling circle and glue where it touches the filling. Set aside to dry.

Step 4 Once dry, cut lattice to fit the pie.

Step 5 Glue lattice-topped filling onto crust circle.

Bonus: Cut either of these pies into slices and use as coasters!
